Johnny Depp Surprises Young Patients In Madrid Hospital As Jack Sparrow

Washington DC [US], June 19: Hollywood star Johnny Depp brought joy to young patients at Nino Jesus University Children’s Hospital in Madrid by appearing in his beloved Jack Sparrow costume, reported People.

On June 16, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, currently in Spain filming his upcoming movie Day Drinker, took time off to visit the hospital and interact with children. Dressed as the iconic pirate, Depp, 62, was seen touching pinkies and sharing smiles with children in their hospital rooms, creating memorable moments for both the kids and the hospital staff.

Depp’s visit continues his long-standing tradition of appearing as Jack Sparrow to cheer up children in hospitals around the world. In September 2024, he made a similar visit to Donostia University Hospital in San Sebastian, Spain, while attending the San Sebastian Film Festival. There, he spent time with patients in the Pediatrics and Oncology ward.

Over the years, Depp has brought Jack Sparrow to children’s hospitals in cities like Vancouver, Paris, London, Brisbane, and across the U.S., using his most iconic character to lift spirits.

Depp originally debuted as Captain Jack Sparrow in 2003’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, alongside Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. He went on to star in four more films in the franchise: Dead Man’s Chest (2006), At World’s End (2007), On Stranger Tides (2011), and Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), becoming one of cinema’s most recognizable characters.
