Washington, April 17 – Jennifer Lopez is set to headline Netflix’s adaptation of the psychological thriller ‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’, with acclaimed director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) at the helm.
Based on Liv Constantine’s best-selling novel, the film follows a cunning con artist who worms her way into the lives of a wealthy couple, the Parrishes, by befriending the wife and seducing the husband—aiming to replace the titular Mrs. Parrish. However, she soon discovers that the glamorous life she covets may be hiding dark and unexpected secrets.
The screenplay is being crafted by Andrea Berloff (Straight Outta Compton) and John Gatins (Flight), taking over from Lisa Rubin, who was originally attached to the project in 2021 when Netflix acquired the rights.
The film is produced by Liza Chasin (3dot Productions), Molly Sims (Something Happy Productions), and Lopez herself, alongside Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina through Nuyorican Productions.
Lopez, fresh off her role in Unstoppable, will also appear in the upcoming musical remake of Kiss of the Spider Woman, directed by Bill Condon.
Zemeckis brings a powerhouse résumé to the project, having directed classics like Cast Away, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Polar Express. His collaboration with Lopez marks an exciting blend of high drama and psychological intrigue for Netflix’s growing slate of thrillers.
