Washington [US], May 27: The 2025 American Music Awards launched with a bang as Jennifer Lopez took center stage, captivating audiences both as host and performer. The 55-year-old superstar opened the night with a high-energy medley of her greatest hits, dressed in a stunning sheer bodysuit that accentuated her trademark glamour and stage presence.
A standout moment from her performance included a sultry rendition of Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things,” during which Lopez shared steamy kisses with two of her backup dancers — a move that sparked buzz across social media and left viewers stunned.
Ahead of the event, Lopez revealed to E! News that she had been rigorously preparing for weeks, despite suffering a facial injury during rehearsals. “I’ve been rehearsing for a couple of weeks on the number,” she shared. “So I’m excited about that.”
The AMAs marked a major return to live television performances for Lopez, who had taken a break in 2024 to prioritize family time. “This is kind of like getting back into my performance mode,” she explained.
The 2025 ceremony also features star-studded performances from Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, Benson Boone, Gloria Estefan, Lainey Wilson, and Renee Rapp. Music legends Janet Jackson and Rod Stewart were honored during the show, with celebrity presenters including Machine Gun Kelly, Cara Delevingne, Shaboozey, and Dylan Efron adding to the glamour of the night.
