NEW YORK — As the premiere of Peacemaker season 2 approaches, actress Jennifer Holland, who stars in the series, has opened up about the challenges of balancing her marriage with husband James Gunn’s demanding role as co-CEO of DC Studios. In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Holland, who portrays A.R.G.U.S. agent Emilia Harcourt on the HBO Max series, admitted there is “very little” work-life balance in their relationship.
Holland, who recently attended the Peacemaker season 2 premiere with Gunn, told the outlet that she is “in no way, upset or judgmental with James” and understands that his current number one focus is his work at DC. “He wants to make sure that it’s everything that the fans could hope for,” she said.
Gunn, who created, wrote, and directed the second season of Peacemaker, has been deeply involved in a number of upcoming DC projects. His recently released film, Superman, starring David Corenswet, serves as the cornerstone for the new DC Universe. The film also featured a cameo from the Peacemaker cast, a direct link to the new season, which premieres on August 21.
Holland, who has also appeared in other films directed by her husband, including The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, said she has a front-row seat to all of Gunn’s endeavors. Peacemaker season 2 is set to expand the new DC Universe, with Holland reprising her role as Harcourt alongside star John Cena.
