A nine-member all-party Indian parliamentary delegation, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, is currently in Japan as part of India’s global outreach campaign to expose Pakistan’s involvement in terrorism and gather international support.
Speaking in Tokyo, Jha stressed the unity of Indian political parties when it comes to national security, despite electoral differences. “We may contest elections against each other, but when it comes to the country, we are together,” said Jha.
The delegation comes in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, where terrorists targeted tourists based on religion. Jha reiterated that Pakistan has waged a proxy war for over 40 years, avoiding direct conflict with India.
Operation Sindoor: Indian Response
Jha revealed that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clear message in Bihar on April 24, the Indian Army carried out Operation Sindoor, destroying nine terrorist camps in Pakistan. “The economy of Jammu and Kashmir is based on tourism. Terrorists are trying to derail peace. But we’ve given them a strong message,” he said.
Photographic Evidence Shared with Japan
In meetings with Japanese officials, the Indian delegation presented evidence of Pakistan’s military support for terrorists, including a photo of Pak Army generals attending funerals of terrorists like Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a US-designated global terrorist.
“They were very receptive. We even reminded them that Osama bin Laden was found in Pakistan,” said Jha.
Unified Delegation Against Terrorism
The delegation includes leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties:
- Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradhan Baruah, Hemang Joshi (BJP)
- Abhishek Banerjee (AITC)
- John Brittas (CPI-M)
- Salman Khurshid, former MEA
- Ambassador Mohan Kumar
They have held meetings with senior Japanese officials, including Former Defence Minister Minoru Kihara and Shinako Tsuchiya, Director General of the International Bureau, LDP.
Global Outreach Continues
The Japan visit is part of India’s broader international campaign to expose Pakistan’s state-sponsored terrorism. The delegation is expected to visit other East Asian nations in the coming weeks.
“This is the new normal,” said Jha. “If they attack us, we will strike them in their homes.”
