JD Vance Breaks Silence on Trump’s Health: ‘I’m Ready to Serve’ As President

In a statement that has captured attention across the US, Vice President JD Vance has made it clear he is ready to step into the role of President should a “terrible tragedy” occur. Speaking to USA Today on Thursday, Vance stated that while he is confident President Donald Trump is in “great health,” his 200 days on the job have given him the “on-the-job training” to be ready for anything.

“I feel very confident the president of the United States is in good shape, is going to serve out the remainder of his term and do great things for the American people,” the 41-year-old said. “And if, God forbid, there’s a terrible tragedy, I can’t think of better on-the-job training than what I’ve gotten over the last 200 days.”

Vance’s remarks come as the public has been speculating about the President’s physical condition. The rumors began after Trump was seen with a visible bruise on his hand during a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung. The speculation intensified following a previous report in July that noted visible swelling on the President’s lower legs.

The White House, however, has consistently downplayed these concerns. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement on Friday, explaining that the hand bruise was simply the result of “frequent, forceful handshakes” and the use of aspirin. She added that “President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other President in history.” The White House physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, has also weighed in, confirming that Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which he described as a “benign and common condition, especially among individuals over the age of 70.”
