Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 9: Renowned playback singer Javed Ali, famous for hits like ‘Kun Faya Kun,’ has released a new track titled Kismat, collaborating with Ayaz Ismail.
The song was born out of the duo’s impromptu collaboration during Javed Ali’s USA tour in 2022. In a press statement, Javed Ali described the creative process, sharing, “While recording, I felt the track needed a special closing touch. I suggested adding a line, and Ayaz immediately contacted Kunaal Vermaa. Within minutes, we came up with the line ‘Tujhe Chand Ki Tarah,’ which gave the song an ethereal touch. The spontaneity of that moment was electric and elevated Kismat to a whole new level.”
Ayaz Ismail also reflected on the project, saying, “Kismat takes us into unexplored territory. I envisioned Javed Ali’s voice bringing a fresh twist to the style, something we haven’t heard from him before. His vocals have a distinctly Western vibe, perfectly complementing the energetic rhythm of the song. While working on the track, I imagined an actor dancing in a vibrant Bollywood scene, which shaped the sound. It’s cinematic, vibrant, and globally appealing. It has been an honor collaborating with Javed Ali, and I’m confident this song will resonate with listeners worldwide.”
Ayaz Ismail, based in Dallas, Texas, is known for blending Indian classical music with contemporary genres. Over the years, he has worked with celebrated artists such as Javed Ali, Shaan, and Mohit Chauhan. His previous works include Bezubaan, Wirdd, and Dil Ki Shikayat.
