New Delhi [India], January 1: Renowned singer Javed Ali, famous for his hits like “Kun Faya Kun,” recently shared his thoughts on Diljit Dosanjh’s comments regarding India’s concert infrastructure. During a performance in Chandigarh, Diljit had mentioned that he would refrain from holding more concerts in India until the infrastructure for live shows improves.
When asked about the state of concert setups in India, Javed Ali expressed his deep appreciation for the love and respect he receives as an artist in the country. “Wherever we go, we receive so much love. People in India treat artists with great respect, and I don’t think such love exists anywhere else. If you are respected at home, that’s what matters most. No matter where you go, you won’t find the same joy. I love my country,” Ali said.
Diljit, during his Chandigarh performance, pointed out the lack of proper infrastructure for live events in India, calling it a significant issue that affects many livelihoods. He also suggested that for future concerts, he would aim to have the stage in the center, allowing the audience to surround it. He stated, “Until this happens, I won’t do shows in India, that’s for sure.”
On the music front, Javed Ali has released a new song titled “Kismat,” a collaboration with American-Indian composer Ayaz Ismail. The track was created during Javed’s USA tour in 2022. Reflecting on the collaboration, Ali shared, “It was very interesting. I was on a 40-day tour in America in 2022 when Ayaz called me about collaborating. I thought it was a great idea since we had worked together before on the song ‘Wirdd,’ which was widely appreciated.”
Ayaz Ismail, based in Dallas, Texas, is known for blending Indian classical music with contemporary genres. He has previously worked with artists like Shaan and Mohit Chauhan. “Kismat,” which was released on December 9, is available on Ayaz Ismail’s official YouTube channel, as well as streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
