New Delhi [India], December 25: Jasprit Bumrah has made a remarkable achievement in the ICC Men’s Test Bowling Rankings, reaching 904 rating points and tying the record for the highest rating ever held by an Indian player. This record was previously set by spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Bumrah now has the chance to surpass this feat in the upcoming Melbourne Test.

In other significant movements within the rankings, Travis Head has made a substantial rise in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings, thanks to his outstanding performances. His recent innings, including a brilliant 152 at the Gabba, have propelled him to the fourth position with 825 points, bringing him closer to the top three. Steve Smith’s century in the third Test also helped him re-enter the top ten. Meanwhile, KL Rahul’s solid performance in India’s first innings has earned him a 10-place jump to 40th.

Bumrah’s spot at the top of the Test Bowling Rankings was solidified after his remarkable performance in Brisbane, where he picked up 9 wickets for 94 runs, earning 14 rating points. South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood follow him in second and third place, respectively.

In the all-rounders’ category, Australia’s Pat Cummins regained his place in the top 10 after a stellar performance in the third Test against India, taking four wickets and contributing 42 runs. Travis Head’s all-round contributions also pushed him up nine spots to 29th.

The Men’s ODI Batting Rankings also saw some notable climbs. Heinrich Klaasen moved up to 5th place, improving from 13th after consistent half-centuries against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Saim Ayub’s twin centuries in the series propelled him from 70th to a joint-23rd position. Ayub also surged 113 spots to joint-42nd among all-rounders.

In the ODI Bowling Rankings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai moved up 43 places to 58th after claiming six wickets against Zimbabwe. His all-round abilities also helped him rise to third place among all-rounders.

In the Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings, Mahedi Hasan and Roston Chase made significant strides. Hasan moved up 13 spots to 10th, while Chase advanced 11 places to 13th, following their strong performances in the T20I series in the West Indies. Several other Bangladesh players, including Rishad Hossain and Hasan Mahmud, also saw notable progress in the rankings after a successful multi-format tour of the Caribbean.
