Jasmine Sandlas Stops Delhi Concert Mid-Show After Spotting Crowd Harassment, Praised For Taking Stand

Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas paused her Dhurandhar concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to ensure women’s safety, earning widespread praise on social media for prioritising dignity over performance.

Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas halted her live concert in Delhi after noticing two men allegedly harassing women in the crowd, making it clear she would not continue performing unless the issue was addressed.

The incident took place on Tuesday night during her Dhurandhar show at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Mid-performance, Sandlas stopped the music and addressed security personnel directly through the microphone. Pointing towards the individuals, she said, “Please remove these two guys — they’re troubling these women.”

She further asserted that she would not continue the concert if the women in the audience felt unsafe. “I will not perform if women don’t feel safe in my concert,” she said, drawing loud cheers and applause from the crowd. Security officials promptly escorted the two men out of the venue, after which Sandlas resumed her performance.

Videos of the moment quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans and users praising the singer for taking a strong stand against harassment and using her platform to promote safety and respect.

One user, Ayesha Ufaq, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Respect to Jasmine Sandlas for taking a stand when it truly mattered. No performance is more important than the safety and dignity of women in the audience. Artists using their platform to call out harassment sends a powerful message that such behavior will not be tolerated.” She added that women deserve to feel safe in public spaces, especially at events meant for entertainment and celebration.

The incident has sparked conversations about crowd safety at concerts and the responsibility of organisers and artists to ensure secure environments for fans.
