Jared Leto Reclaims His 2014 Oscar After Mysterious Loss

Washington [US], December 4: Actor Jared Leto has shared an intriguing update about his Oscar statuette. Leto won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2014 for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, but in 2021, he revealed that he had mysteriously lost the prestigious award after a move in 2018.

Speaking to Page Six, Leto explained that after relocating in Los Angeles, his Oscar “magically disappeared.” Despite thorough searches, neither he nor his staff could find it. “It could be somewhere, but everyone’s searched for it high and low,” Leto said. “I hope it’s in good hands wherever it is.”

When asked whether the Oscar might have been stolen, Leto speculated, “I think it’s a good possibility… it’s not something someone accidentally throws in the trash.”

Reflecting on the experience, Leto added, “I remember the night I got it, I passed it around to so many people… it was beat up and scratched up, but people had fun taking pictures with it.” He hoped that whoever now has the award is taking care of it.

In a recent Instagram post, Leto shared a photo of himself holding the Oscar, with the caption, “Found my Oscar.”

Leto is currently on tour with his band and will be performing in Dubai and Saudi Arabia later this year.
