Actor Janhvi Kapoor talked about her role in the upcoming romantic comedy Param Sundari in a recent interview. She talked about the emotional and professional reasons that motivated her to take on the film. Dinesh Vijan made the movie, which also stars Sidharth Malhotra. Some people online have criticized Kapoor’s accent and how she played a Malayali character.
Kapoor said during the conversation that her character in the movie is not a genuine Malayali but has a mix of backgrounds. “Of course, I’m not a Malayali, and neither was my mother. But my character is half-Tamilian and half-Malayali,” she remarked.
Kapoor said she wanted to be in the movie because she wanted to be in a light-hearted romantic comedy and because the tale allowed her a chance “to go towards my roots.” She said that she had been interested in the culture and movies of the area for a long time. “I’ve always been very interested in that area and that culture, and I also really like Malayalam movies,” she said.
Tushar Jalota directed Param Sundari, which is about a relationship between a Delhi boy (Sidharth Malhotra) and a Kerala girl (Janhvi Kapoor). Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya have important roles in the movie, which comes out on August 29.
Some people have criticized the movie for how it shows South Indian culture, however Kapoor’s comments show that she is really interested in the part and loves Malayalam movies.
