Baramulla (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 20: A soldier sustained critical injuries on Monday during a joint search operation by the Kashmir Police, Indian Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Zaloora village, located a few kilometers from Sopore in Baramulla district.
Officials reported that the soldier was quickly evacuated for medical treatment, while the operation continued. The search operation was part of ongoing efforts to locate terrorists in the region.
This incident follows the discovery of a hideout by security forces during a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Sopore on Sunday. In the course of the operation in Zaloora, gunfire was exchanged, prompting the area to be cordoned off.
“During a CASO by Police & SFs at Zaloora, Sopore, a hideout was busted. Gunfire was observed from inside, and the area has been cordoned off,” the Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.
