Gunn’s Vision for Superman 🦸♂️
Speaking at CinemaCon, Gunn revealed his long-time fascination with the Man of Steel.
🗣️ “Back in 2018, I was first offered Superman. I thought, ‘Oh my god, that seems so cool… but it seems hard.’ But it stuck with me. How can you take a character, often seen as old-fashioned, and make him relevant for a modern audience?”
💙 He emphasized the movie is about kindness and human love:
💬 “I want people to feel that magical connection when they leave the theater and love the person they came with a little more than when they walked in.”
Release Date & Expectations
📅 ‘Superman’ flies into theaters on July 11, 2025, marking the first DC Studios film under Gunn and Peter Safran’s leadership.
🎬 With the Marvel vs. DC rivalry heating up, Gunn’s surprise release of the footage just before Marvel’s CinemaCon event seems like a strategic move to steal the spotlight.
