Jaipur (Rajasthan), April 13: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fluent 75 and a late flourish from Dhruv Jurel (35*) guided Rajasthan Royals to a competitive 173/4 in their 20 overs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Opening the innings, Jaiswal and Sanju Samson provided a steady start, though Samson struggled to find momentum and was eventually dismissed by Krunal Pandya in the 7th over for 15 off 19 balls. Despite a sluggish start, RR ended the powerplay at 45/0.
Riyan Parag joined Jaiswal and benefitted from a crucial drop by Yash Dayal off Suyash Sharma in the 10th over. By the halfway mark, RR stood at 77/1. Jaiswal brought up his second fifty of the season in the 13th over, and the duo stitched together a valuable 50-run partnership. However, Parag’s stay ended for 30 (22) after falling to Yash Dayal in the 14th over.
With momentum building, Jaiswal looked to accelerate but perished to Josh Hazlewood in the 16th over after a superb 75 from 47 balls, laced with 10 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Dhruv Jurel, after a cautious start, switched gears late in the innings. He received a reprieve when Virat Kohli dropped him at long-off in the 17th over. In the 19th, Jurel took on Dayal, hammering 15 runs off his over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a tight final over, conceding 11 runs and dismissing Shimron Hetmyer.
