Yashasvi Jaiswal Reflects On Rajasthan Royals’ Consolation Win Over CSK In Final IPL 2025 Clash

After sealing a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday, Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal shared his thoughts on the final fixture of their IPL 2025 campaign at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Though Rajasthan endured a disappointing season overall, they concluded the 62nd match of the tournament with a spirited victory that offered a glimpse of promise and potential for the future.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Jaiswal said,
“It was pretty good. We were trying our best, and I really enjoyed it. There has been few injuries with the team, Sanju bhai came back after a few games and it was a good game for us, we will take the confidence going forward. (on Suryavanshi) He played really well, he played amazingly today, we have seen how he has been playing throughout the tournament. (on the bowlers) They have bowled pretty well, we have a clear plan where we have to bowl. I was telling them, whatever plans you have, go with a clear head and do it.”

Chasing a target of 188, the Royals launched their innings aggressively with the young opening pair of Jaiswal and 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who relentlessly attacked CSK’s bowling lineup.

Jaiswal was the early aggressor, smashing 36 off just 18 deliveries, including three boundaries and a massive six in Khaleel Ahmed’s over. His innings came to an end after a slight inside edge off Anshul Kamboj sent the ball crashing into the stumps.

The momentum continued as Suryavanshi and skipper Sanju Samson stitched a 98-run stand, breaking the spine of Chennai’s defense. Suryavanshi showcased his talent yet again by reaching his half-century in style, launching a powerful six over deep square.

The partnership was broken by Ravichandran Ashwin, who dismissed both Samson (41) and Suryavanshi (57) in the same over. Noor Ahmad added a twist by trapping Riyan Parag with a googly, but the game was well within Rajasthan’s control.

In the final stages, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer kept their calm, guiding the Royals to a victory in what turned out to be their last match of IPL 2025, ending the season on a positive note despite the earlier setbacks.
