A catastrophic accident and fire in Jaipur’s Bhankrota area early this morning on Ajmer Road left four people dead and nearly 40 vehicles, including trucks and trolleys, charred.
The fire, triggered by multiple vehicle collisions near a petrol pump, spread rapidly, engulfing dozens of vehicles. Emergency services, including police, fire brigade, and civil defense teams, are working tirelessly to control the situation.
Official Statements
Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar provided details about the tragedy:
“A horrific accident and fire occurred in the Bhankrota area of Jaipur. Nearly two dozen vehicles caught fire, and many trucks and trolleys were burnt to ashes. The fire started due to a collision involving several vehicles one after the other.”
He added that a gas tanker involved in the accident likely intensified the blaze, causing nearby vehicles to catch fire.
Jaipur District Collector Jitendra Soni confirmed the fatalities and significant damage:
“Four people have died so far in the accident, and nearly 40 vehicles have caught fire. Many people have also been injured.”
Eyewitness Account
Moti Singh, a petrol pump employee, recounted the incident:
“The accident happened around 5 o’clock in the morning. Suddenly, we saw trucks burning. A Naira pump across from us also caught fire. We managed to contain the fire at our site using a cylinder.”

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his concern on X (formerly Twitter):
“The incident of fire in a petrol pump and chemical tanker on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway is very worrying. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of all the injured.”
