MELBOURNE — Actor Jaideep Ahlawat is once again winning hearts, this time with an impromptu bhangra performance at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2025. The Paatal Lok star, known for his intense acting roles, surprised and delighted fans and fellow celebrities with his infectious energy and effortless dance moves.
A video from the Remitly IFFM Dance Competition, shared by the festival on Saturday, showed Ahlawat on stage alongside actress Malaika Arora and casting director Mukesh Chhabra. While Arora and Chhabra were seen following a dancer’s instructions, Ahlawat spontaneously jumped in, captivating the crowd with his spirited bhangra. His performance was met with loud cheers and applause, with Malaika Arora visibly impressed and the audience chanting “Once more!”
This isn’t the first time Ahlawat’s dancing has gone viral. In April, his electrifying moves in the song “Jaadu” from the film Jewel Thief had also created a buzz on the internet. Fans have been showering him with praise on social media, with many expressing their desire to see him in more dance numbers on screen.
The dancing moment was a highlight of a successful festival for Ahlawat. He was also honored with the Best Actor – Web Series award for his acclaimed performance as Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary in Paatal Lok Season 2. The win adds to a growing list of accolades for the actor, who has received widespread recognition for the role on various platforms.
