Israeli Town Renames Land To “Trump One” In Honor Of US President Donald Trump

The mayor of Ma’ale Adumim, an Israeli town in Judea, made a significant announcement on Wednesday, renaming a major tract of municipal land to “Trump One” (T1) to honor US President Donald Trump.

“Trump’s second term is a unique opportunity to strengthen Jewish communities, especially in Judea and Samaria,” said Mayor Guy Yifrach. “We trust Trump and believe that he will promote construction in the region in the coming months.”

The 4,000-acre zone, previously known as E1 or Mevaseret Adumim, lies within the municipal boundaries of Ma’ale Adumim and is part of Area C, an area where Israel maintains full administrative and security control. The area has been the subject of plans for the construction of over 3,000 homes to address housing shortages, but these plans have faced significant opposition, including from the Biden administration.

Mayor Yifrach described the T1 land as “a strategic asset” and urged Israeli leaders to establish territorial continuity between Ma’ale Adumim and Jerusalem. Under Israeli-Palestinian agreements, Israel retains complete control over Area C.

Trump, who recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights in 2019, has also been honored with the naming of a community in the Golan Heights, called Ramat Trump, in recognition of his support for Israel.

Israeli leaders have also praised Trump’s executive orders that reversed sanctions imposed by the Biden administration on residents of Judea and Samaria accused of violence against Palestinians, as well as his actions to cut off funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and re-impose sanctions on officials of the International Criminal Court.
