The Israeli military on Thursday said that it had begun a new series of attacks on Hezbollah assets in southern Lebanon. The attacks started not long after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) told people in the vicinity to leave.
A military spokeswoman said that the strike is a direct response to what Israel says are Hezbollah’s intensified efforts to reestablish and expand its operations along the border. “The IDF began striking Hezbollah military targets in southern Lebanon,” the military said.
In the past few weeks, tensions between Israel and the militant organization sponsored by Iran have been rising. Both sides have been making threats and allegations. The scenario has made people throughout the world worry that there could be a bigger war in the area.
