Iran Threatens to Kill Netanyahu as War Intensifies; Israeli PM Office Dismisses Assassination Rumours

Amid the escalating conflict between Iran and the US-Israel alliance, fresh threats have emerged against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Iran’s powerful military wing, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has reportedly warned that it will “pursue and kill” the Israeli leader during the ongoing war.

The threat came shortly after rumours about Netanyahu’s assassination spread widely on social media. However, the Israeli Prime Minister’s office dismissed those claims as “fake news” and confirmed that the leader is alive and actively overseeing military operations.

IRGC Issues Direct Warning

In a statement following the rumours, the IRGC reportedly said that if Netanyahu is alive, Iranian forces would continue to hunt him down. The group referred to the Israeli leader as a “war criminal and child-killer.”

A separate message circulated by Iran’s embassy in South Africa also criticised Netanyahu strongly, saying his life was insignificant compared to Iranian civilians.

Social Media Rumours and AI Video

Speculation about Netanyahu’s alleged death intensified after a video shared from his official account showed what some viewers believed was an extra finger on his hand, leading to claims that the clip was generated using artificial intelligence.

Fact-checks later suggested the visual was likely a camera illusion or lighting effect, not proof of an AI-generated video.

Reports About Military Meetings

Unverified social media claims also suggested that Netanyahu had been absent from key wartime military meetings. The Prime Minister’s office rejected those reports as well, stating that he continues to participate in operational decisions during the ongoing conflict.

The war between Iran and Israel-aligned forces has already pushed tensions in the Middle East to a dangerous level, with threats, missile strikes and military actions continuing across the region.
