Loud explosions were reported in several major cities, including Tehran, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, on Tuesday as tensions between Iran and Israel erupted into a fresh round of missile attacks.
These renewed strikes came just hours after former U.S. President Donald Trump issued an urgent warning to civilians, urging them to evacuate Tehran in anticipation of potential escalation.
As part of its ongoing military operations, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a statement claiming responsibility for a series of targeted strikes. These included the destruction of two Iranian F-14 fighter jets stationed at an airport in Tehran. The IDF asserted that the jets were positioned to intercept Israeli aircraft.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the IDF stated:
“RECAP of Our Recent Operations Over Tehran: Strike on two F-14 fighter jets that were located at an airport in Tehran. These jets were intended to intercept Israeli aircraft. Thwarted a UAV launch attempt toward Israel. Eliminated a launch cell minutes before launch toward Israel after intelligence tracked and identified its launch team deploying UAV launchers and weapons.”
According to IDF sources, the drone launch attempt was intercepted shortly before it could be executed. The launch team, allegedly caught in the act of setting up UAV launchers and weapons, was neutralized as part of a precision strike.
The situation continues to evolve rapidly as both sides exchange fire, with rising casualties and global calls for de-escalation. Meanwhile, international leaders are closely monitoring the conflict and urging restraint to prevent further deterioration.
