IPL 2025: Varun Aaron And Aaron Finch Praise Ishan Kishan’s Comeback Knock Against CSK

New Delhi [India] : Former Indian pacer Varun Aaron and ex-Australian skipper Aaron Finch lauded Ishan Kishan’s performance for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Kishan’s composed innings of 44 off 34 balls helped SRH chase down 155 and secure a crucial five-wicket win.

Varun Aaron, speaking to ESPNcricinfo, noted Kishan’s bounce back after a string of poor scores. “He had a string of really bad scores. I think he scored more runs in this innings than in his last seven innings,” he said. Aaron also mentioned that Kishan would be disappointed with his dismissal, having hit a poor delivery straight to the fielder at deep midwicket.

Kishan, who walked in early after Abhishek Sharma’s first-over dismissal, took his time before accelerating later in the innings. He was on 21 off 20 balls at one stage before finishing with 44.

Aaron Finch praised Kishan’s maturity, saying, “His ability to read the situation and not overplay his hand early on and be overly aggressive stood out. He assessed the conditions well, which is never easy during the powerplay.”

Kishan has now scored 186 runs in nine innings this IPL season, including a standout unbeaten 106 against Rajasthan Royals in SRH’s opening game.

The match also featured a stellar four-wicket haul from Harshal Patel and a valuable contribution by Kamindu Mendis. With this win, SRH climbed to eighth in the points table with six points (three wins, six losses), while CSK slipped to the bottom with just four points (two wins, seven losses).
