IPL 2025: RCB Opt To Bowl First Against Rajasthan Royals In Match 28 At Jaipur

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 13: In the 28th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday.

Rajasthan Royals, currently seventh on the points table, have two wins and three losses in their five matches so far. They are coming off a heavy 58-run defeat against Gujarat Titans and will be looking to bounce back strongly in front of their home crowd.

RCB, meanwhile, are placed fifth with three wins and two losses. They too are looking to return to winning ways after a recent loss to Delhi Capitals.

Speaking at the toss, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar said, “We will bowl first. The surface looks hard and good. We’ll get a chance to see how it behaves. This match is also being played to raise awareness about tree planting. We’re going with the same team.”

RR captain Sanju Samson noted that his side also intended to bowl first. “Actually, we also wanted to bowl. Batting tends to get easier here as per local info. We know the conditions well. If we respect the opposition and play to our potential, we’ll be fine. Ups and downs are part of the game; we can’t let doubts enter the dressing room. Wanindu Hasaranga is back and replaces Farooqi,” Samson added with a smile.
