iPhone 17 Launch In India Marked By Massive Crowds And A Scuffle In Mumbai

When Apple released its new iPhone 17 series on Friday, people all around India showed up in big numbers. There were huge queues outside Apple Stores in Mumbai and Delhi. But there was a small fight between some people waiting in line at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) facility in Mumbai, which was really exciting.

Media posted a footage of the fight that shows at least two people striking and slapping one other while others tried to calm things down. The noise briefly stopped the line, so the store’s security staff had to step in immediately to restore order. It wasn’t clear right away why the brawl happened.

Excitement and Early Purchasers

Even though something bad happened, the store was mostly full with excited consumers who couldn’t wait to get their hands on the new iPhone model. Customers who had pre-ordered or walked in may buy the iPhone 17 series, which costs between ₹82,900 and ₹2,29,900.

Aman Memon, one of the first consumers in Mumbai, told media that he had been waiting in line since 3 a.m. to buy three iPhones for his family. He said he was excited about the new colors and designs and that the color he chose was his favorite. Another client in Mumbai, Irfan, told media that he had been waiting since 8 p.m. the night before to get the “orange iPhone 17 PRO Max.” He liked the changes to the camera, battery, and general design.

There were similar sights in other big cities, with enormous lines outside the Apple Store in Saket, Delhi, and people waiting in Bengaluru as well. A consumer in Bengaluru who had been a “early buyer” for several years said the current model was “comparatively better than the last three.”

Apple’s retail partners are running a number of specials to increase sales. These include cash back, exchange discounts, and longer EMI options. Customers who trade in previous iPhones can also get offers on accessories and wearables that come with the phone.
