Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 9: The family of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore resident found dead in Meghalaya, has voiced shock and suspicion as new details about the case come to light.
Raja’s brother, Vipul Raghuvanshi, has questioned the role of Raj Kushwaha—an employee of Raja’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi—suggesting a deeper conspiracy. Vipul said, “Raj Kushwaha’s name has surfaced, and since he was closely associated with Sonam, we suspect her involvement as well. They used to talk frequently. I had no idea about these 3–4 individuals earlier. But now, I believe the Meghalaya government isn’t hiding facts.”
The couple, on their honeymoon, was initially scheduled to visit only Assam to offer prayers at the Maa Kamakhya Temple. However, they suddenly extended their trip to Meghalaya, raising questions among family members. “They didn’t even book return tickets. We still don’t know who decided to go to Shillong,” Vipul added.
Raja Raghuvanshi was later found dead in Meghalaya on June 2. His wife, Sonam, was eventually located near a roadside dhaba along the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway, according to the Uttar Pradesh Police.
Another family member, Sachin Raghuvanshi, thanked the Meghalaya Police and the Chief Minister for their efforts. “Let the investigation conclude. If Sonam is found guilty, we will demand the strictest punishment,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sonam’s father, Devi Singh, has defended his daughter, claiming her innocence and accusing the Meghalaya authorities of fabricating stories. “They are lying from the beginning. Sonam is innocent,” he asserted.
As investigations continue, the case remains under intense scrutiny, with both sides presenting contrasting claims about what truly happened during the couple’s trip to the Northeast.
