IndiGo Forms Crisis Management Group to Address Widespread Flight Disruptions

IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd., has established a Crisis Management Group (CMG) to tackle the ongoing wave of flight cancellations and delays affecting passengers across the country. The airline announced the move on Sunday as disruptions continued to impact operations.

The CMG includes chairman Vikram Singh Mehta, board directors Gregg Saretsky and Mike Whitaker, Amitabh Kant, and IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers.

In a statement, the airline said its Board of Directors is “doing everything possible” to support affected customers, including ensuring swift refunds for cancelled flights and offering waivers on cancellations or rescheduling during the crisis period.

According to IndiGo, the CMG was formed during a Board-only session held on the first day of the disruptions, following a detailed briefing on the situation’s scale and impact. Since then, the group has been meeting regularly to monitor developments, with management providing continuous updates on efforts to restore operations. IndiGo also noted several telephonic consultations with other Board members who are not part of the CMG.
