IndiGo Flight To Diu Aborts Take-Off At Ahmedabad Due To Technical Snag; All Passengers Safe

NEW DELHI [India], July 23: An IndiGo flight, 6E7966, bound for Diu from Ahmedabad was forced to abort its take-off on Wednesday after pilots detected a technical snag. The airline confirmed the incident, assuring that all passengers and crew are safe, and the aircraft has been returned to the bay for necessary checks.

According to a statement issued by an IndiGo spokesperson, “A technical snag indication was noticed just before take-off on IndiGo flight 6E7966 operating from Ahmedabad to Diu on 23 July 2025. Following the standard operating procedure, the pilots informed the authorities and returned the aircraft to the bay.”

Airline sources informed ANI that the flight was carrying over 50 passengers and four crew members at the time of the incident. The flight was scheduled to depart from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at approximately 11:15 am. The technical issue was detected while the aircraft was in the take-off roll phase, prompting the pilots to make the decision to halt the departure.

The spokesperson further added that the aircraft will undergo thorough checks and maintenance procedures before it is cleared to resume operations.

IndiGo expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused to the affected passengers and stated that efforts are being made to minimize the impact of the delay. “We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and are making all efforts to minimize it by offering them refreshments, accommodation in the next available flight or full refund against cancellation, as per their preference. As always, safety of our customers and crew remains the top priority at IndiGo,” the spokesperson affirmed.

This incident marks another instance of technical snags affecting Indian airlines recently. Just days prior, on July 21, an IndiGo flight from Goa with 140 passengers made an emergency landing at Indore due to a landing gear issue. Earlier, on July 17, a Goa-bound IndiGo flight from Delhi was diverted to Mumbai and made an emergency landing following a mid-air engine failure. These events underscore the importance of strict adherence to safety protocols and maintenance checks in the aviation industry.
