IndiGo Airlines has announced the extension of its ₹10,000 travel voucher scheme to passengers who were severely impacted by mass flight cancellations between December 3 and December 5. The airline said the decision was taken as a “gesture of care” for customers who were heavily stranded at airports during the disruption period.
In a post shared on X, IndiGo stated that the vouchers would be provided to passengers of identified flights operating from noon on December 3 until the end of December 5. The process of identifying eligible customers will begin from December 26, the airline added.
According to IndiGo, its teams will directly reach out to affected passengers whose contact details are already available in the airline’s records. The airline assured that the entire process would be handled smoothly by its staff. For customers who booked tickets through travel partners, IndiGo said it would coordinate with the respective agents to ensure the vouchers reach them.
Earlier, on December 11, IndiGo had announced the issuance of ₹10,000 travel vouchers to passengers impacted by cancellations on December 3, 4 and 5. The airline clarified that these vouchers can be used for any future IndiGo journey within the next 12 months.
The country’s largest carrier faced a major operational crisis earlier this month after widespread disruptions led to the cancellation and delay of thousands of flights. The situation resulted in chaos at several airports across India, leaving large numbers of passengers stranded due to last-minute flight cancellations.
