On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s first semiconductor chip made in India would be available for sale by the end of 2025. At the Economic Times World Leaders Forum, the Prime Minister talked about India’s past. He said that the country had missed the chance to start making semiconductors decades ago, but that the present government has altered things.
“We all know that semiconductor production might have started in India 50 to 60 years ago, but India squandered that chance too, and the same thing happened for many years after that. “We have changed this situation today,” PM Modi stated. He also said that factories that make semiconductors are currently being built all throughout the country, and that the first local chip will be available by the end of the year.
The Prime Minister also talked about how quickly India is moving forward in next-generation telecoms, in addition to semiconductors. He said, “We are working quickly on Made in India 6G,” which shows that the government wants to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to new technologies throughout the world.
PM Modi also talked on how India’s involvement in the electric vehicle (EV) market is rising. He said that the country is getting ready to send electric vehicles to as many as 100 other countries. A big program linked to this plan is set for August 26.
PM Modi praised India’s economic performance and said that the country can now help the globe get over slow growth rates by following the motto “Reform, Perform, Transform.” “We’re not the kind of people who sit beside still water and fling rocks. “We are the ones who can turn the fast-flowing stream,” he remarked, stressing India’s aggressive and ambitious approach to economic growth.
