New Delhi [India], June 8: The all-party parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad returned to India after a diplomatic tour of six European countries, aimed at bolstering India’s global stance against terrorism and exposing Pakistan’s alleged involvement.
Daggubati Purandeswari, BJP MP and a key member of the delegation, stated that the group received a positive and encouraging response during its visits to France, Italy, Denmark, England, Brussels, and Germany. “We had a very good response everywhere. In each country, we engaged with senior government officials, parliamentarians, think tanks, and the Indian diaspora,” she told ANI upon their arrival in Delhi.
Purandeswari underlined that the delegation’s primary goal was to raise awareness about terrorism and provide credible evidence of Pakistan’s role in fostering cross-border attacks. “The governments we met are now well aware of the situation and expressed their readiness to support India,” she noted.
She also highlighted the global outrage over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. “Every country we visited expressed deep anger and extended solidarity with India over the Pahalgam incident. Our message was strongly conveyed,” she said.
The delegation held key meetings with the European Commission and the European Parliament, which were described as effective in reinforcing India’s commitment to zero tolerance towards terrorism.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Delhi airport, delegation leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “It feels great to be back in India. Our meetings with senior leaders, think tanks, and Indian communities across Europe were impactful. The nations we visited strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack. A fresh and stronger relationship is forming between India and Europe.”
Purandeswari also emphasised India’s rising global influence. “India is now the fourth largest economy, and Europe recognises our growing strength and leadership in the fight against terrorism.”
The visit is seen as a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties and rallying global support for India’s firm anti-terrorism policy.
