As New Delhi prepares for the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2026, the Kartavya Path is set to witness a historic display of India’s military might and cultural evolution. This year’s celebrations are uniquely centered on the 150th anniversary of the national song, “Vande Mataram,” and the vision of a self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat).
For the first time in history, India has extended a joint invitation to two top European Union leaders: Antonio Costa (President of the European Council) and Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission), who will grace the event as Chief Guests.
