Indianapolis Lawyer Named Mark Zuckerberg Sues Meta Over Repeated Account Bans

A man from Indiana with a name you probably know is going up against one of the biggest internet firms in the world. Mark Zuckerberg, a bankruptcy lawyer from Indianapolis, is suing Meta, the parent company of Facebook, because its automated systems keep flagging him for “impersonating a celebrity” and suspending his accounts.

The lawyer told the local TV station 13WTHR that he has been getting more and more angry over the years. “It’s not funny.” “Not when they take my money,” he remarked. He says that in the last eight years, his business account has been frozen five times and his personal account four times. “Facebook isn’t worth my time to sue.” “I don’t know how else to make them stop,” he said, “but they have more money, lawyers, and resources than I do.”

The lawsuit says that the continuous suspensions have hurt the person’s finances and career a lot. Zuckerberg’s lawyer said that he lost thousands of dollars in advertising payments he paid to Meta for his law firm’s business page, which was later taken down. He also says that the bans have made it very hard for him to talk to clients.

Zuckerberg said that he has attempted several times to work things out with the corporation personally. Every time his account was suspended, he would file an appeal and get an email saying he was sorry. But he said that it could take months to get his account back, and then the same thing would happen again. He adds that after being banned for the last four months, he has had enough.

Zuckerberg is suing in Marion Superior Court to get his accounts back for good, stop future suspensions, and get back the money he lost from ads and legal fees. He is suing Meta for not doing their job and breaking the law.

A Meta spokeswoman told 13News, “We have restored Mark Zuckerberg’s account after discovering that it had been disabled by mistake.” We thank Mr. Zuckerberg for being patient with this situation and are doing everything we can to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Even though the account has been restored, the litigation is still going on because the lawyer wants to find a permanent solution to the problem that keeps happening.
