New Delhi [India]: In a prestigious event held at the World Trade Centre in Mumbai on January 22, 2025, the Indian Postal Department honored the legacy of Late Mulchand Shah with a special commemorative postage stamp. The ceremony was part of the Maha Utsav – 2025 celebrations, marking over 150 years of the department’s service to the nation.
The event was inaugurated by Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, accompanied by Chief Post Master General of Maharashtra and Goa Amitabh Singh, Chairman of WTC Mumbai Vijay Kalantri, and Director of Mascot International Private Limited, Maniklal Shah.
Governor Radhakrishnan praised the Indian Postal Department for its legacy of trust and service, emphasizing its role in fostering India’s development. He noted the department’s deep-rooted commitment to humanitarian values and its continued inspiration to generations.
Late Mulchand Shah, hailing from the Godwar region of Rajasthan, was celebrated for his philanthropic contributions and leadership in transforming communities. As a former Sarpanch of Jawali Village in Rajasthan’s Pali District, Shah spearheaded numerous social projects, including the establishment of educational institutions, healthcare facilities, dams, and temples.
Highlighting Shah’s legacy, his son Maniklal Shah expressed his gratitude, saying:
“This honor bestowed upon my father is a moment of immense pride for our family and for all those whose lives he touched through his social initiatives. He believed that true success lies in giving back to society, and his contributions, especially in Jawali and the broader Pali District, were a reflection of this belief.”
Maniklal also emphasized his father’s dedication to the welfare of his community, adding:
“As a Sarpanch of Jawali for many years, my father was deeply connected to the people, and his efforts in education, infrastructure, and healthcare have left a lasting impact. His legacy in the Godwar region and his role as a respected businessman in Mumbai showcase his dedication to both his community and professional life. I am thankful to the Government of India and the Indian Postal Department for honoring his contributions with this postal stamp.”
