Indian-Origin Motel Manager Beheaded In Dallas Over Washing Machine Dispute

DALLAS, TEXAS – A horrifying act of violence has left the people of Dallas in shock when a 50-year-old Indian-American motel manager was brutally assassinated on Wednesday morning. A coworker reportedly beheaded the deceased, Chandra Mouli “Bob” Nagamallaiah, after a small argument at the Downtown Suites motel. Nagamallaiah’s wife and 18-year-old son saw the horrible attack and tried to stop it, but it was too late.

The suspect, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, has been apprehended by the police and charged with capital murder. He is being held without bail, and if he is found guilty, he might spend the rest of his life in prison without parole or be put to death.

News reports say that a police document says that the fight started after Nagamallaiah, who is from Karnataka, told Cobos-Martinez and a female coworker not to use a malfunctioning washing machine. Nagamallaiah’s request for the female coworker to translate his orders to Cobos-Martinez instead of talking to him directly made things worse. People say that this conduct made the suspect quite angry.

Video from the motel shows Cobos-Martinez leaving the room, getting a machete, and then attacking Nagamallaiah violently. The victim tried to run away to the motel office, where his family was, but the suspect followed him without stopping. Even though Nagamallaiah’s wife and son bravely tried to protect him, Cobos-Martinez shoved them out of the way and killed him. The guy kept attacking until Nagamallaiah’s head was cut off, according to investigators. A witness told the police that Cobos-Martinez then kicked the victim in the head and took it to a dumpster.

According to police records, Cobos-Martinez has a criminal record that includes being arrested in Houston for violence and stealing a car. He is also being held because of an immigration issue.

People who knew Nagamallaiah have said that he was a gentle and compassionate man who loved his family. The Indian community in Dallas is really upset over his loss. They have set up a fundraiser to help the family pay for the funeral, living expenses, and their son’s college education. Nagamallaiah’s funeral will be on Saturday.
