Berlin [Germany]: In a powerful display of global solidarity, members of the Indian diaspora across Europe gathered in large numbers to condemn the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed, most of them tourists, including a Nepali citizen.
In Berlin, between 350 and 400 people — including Indian nationals and friends of India — marched through the city’s iconic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Dom, and Humboldt Forum, drawing attention and support from local residents and tourists.
The demonstration, held on Friday, was part of a series of protests and memorial events organized worldwide by the Indian diaspora following the April 22 terror attack.
Earlier, in London, members of the Indian community gathered outside the Indian High Commission, holding placards and chanting slogans to condemn the attack. Their demonstration also served as a counter-response to a protest organized by pro-Khalistani and Pakistani elements, reaffirming their support for India’s fight against terrorism.
In Warsaw, Poland, a spiritual tribute was held on April 28 at the Hindu Mandir and Gurudwara Singh Sabha, where special prayers and a “Garud Puran Path” were conducted. Leaders from various Indian community groups — including the Tamil, Telugu, Sindhi, and Punjabi associations — came together to offer condolences and pay tribute to the deceased.
In France, members of the Indian diaspora staged a mass protest in front of the Eiffel Tower, where demonstrators condemned Pakistan for allegedly harbouring and supporting terrorism. Protesters displayed banners and raised slogans calling for global action against terror networks operating from Pakistani soil.
These synchronized demonstrations reflect a growing global consensus within the Indian diaspora that terrorism in Kashmir is not just a national issue but a humanitarian concern that needs international attention and action.
