Indian Army Reaffirms Commitment To Eliminate Terrorism In J&K As 3 Pakistani Terrorists Neutralised In Kishtwar

Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], April 1: Amid ongoing anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army has reiterated its unwavering resolve to continue operations across the Union Territories until all terrorists are eliminated.

Addressing a press conference, Shridhar Patil, DIG of the Kishtwar-Doda-Ramban range, stated, “Until terrorists are eliminated, the operations will go on. The people of the area have given full support to security forces. These operations show good coordination of security forces.”

On Saturday, a total of three Pakistani terrorists were neutralised in Kishtwar—two on the same day and one on Friday—during a joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the CRPF.

Brigadier JBS Rathi, Commander of 5 Sector Assam Rifles, elaborated on the tactical execution of the operation, saying, “On April 9, a joint search operation was launched. In the ensuing firefight, three terrorists were killed. UAVs and drones were deployed for real-time surveillance.”

He also emphasized the strong coordination among forces. “This operation brought to the fore the seamless collaboration between the Indian Army and the J&K Police, particularly the Special Operations Group (SOG). Rapid reinforcements, including Special Forces, were deployed with the support of the Indian Air Force,” Brigadier Rathi added.

The encounter, which began on April 9 in the Chhatru area of Kishtwar and Udhampur districts, has now continued for four consecutive days. It was launched based on precise intelligence inputs regarding terrorist presence in the dense forest region.

The White Knight Corps confirmed the operation on X, stating, “Op Chhatru: Based on specific intelligence, a joint search and destroy operation along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched on April 9 in the Chhatru forest, Kishtwar. Contact was established late evening on the same day.”

Shridhar Patil also noted that some terrorists are still believed to be trapped and operations will continue until the area is fully secured. “Details of ongoing operations cannot be shared at this time, but the mission will continue until all threats are neutralised,” he said.
