New Delhi [India], March 27: The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy jointly conducted a tri-service integrated multi-domain exercise, codenamed ‘Prachand Prahar’, in the high-altitude Himalayan terrain along the Northern Borders in Arunachal Pradesh from March 25-27.
High-Tech Joint Operations
The three-day exercise began with the deployment of advanced surveillance assets from all three services, including long-range surveillance aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the Indian Navy’s maritime domain awareness aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and space-based resources. The Indian Army’s elite Special Forces were also engaged in the operation to enhance domain awareness and detect simulated targets.
Once identified, these targets were swiftly eliminated using a synchronized joint firepower assault, which included:
- Fighter aircraft
- Long-range rocket systems
- Medium artillery
- Armed helicopters
- Swarm drones
- Loitering munitions
- Kamikaze drones
The operations were conducted in an electronically contested environment, simulating real-world combat scenarios.
Leadership and Review
The exercise was reviewed by:
- Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari (Eastern Army Commander)
- Air Marshal Surat Singh (Eastern Air Commander)
- Commodore Ajay Yadav (Indian Navy)
The senior officials commended the participants for their high professional standards and operational excellence.
Continuing the Legacy of ‘Exercise Poorvi Prahar’
‘Prachand Prahar’ follows Exercise Poorvi Prahar, conducted in November 2024, which focused on the integrated application of aviation assets in joint operations.
Unmatched Jointness and Technological Superiority
The Eastern Army Command shared on X (formerly Twitter):
“Indian Army’s Eastern Command, along with the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy, showcased their integrated multi-spectrum operational capability in the arduous mountainous terrain along the Northern Borders. Long-range vectors, precision artillery, swarm drones, loitering munitions, and attack helicopters struck multiple targets with lethal precision in a contested electronic environment.”
The exercise validated:
- Integrated planning and command execution
- Seamless surveillance and firepower coordination across the three services
- India’s preparedness to deter and decisively engage emerging threats along its strategic frontiers
A Strong Message on National Defense
‘Prachand Prahar’ underscored the Armed Forces’ commitment to joint warfare, precision strike capabilities, and technological dominance, reinforcing India’s ability to secure its borders against evolving threats.
