Manama [Bahrain], May 25: An all-party delegation from India, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, concluded a two-day diplomatic visit to Bahrain under Operation Sindoor, emphasizing India’s strong stance against terrorism and its commitment to global diplomatic outreach and diaspora engagement.
Arriving on May 24, 2025, the delegation was welcomed at Bahrain International Airport by Indian Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob. The visit included a series of high-level interactions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, the Indian Embassy in Bahrain stated in a press release.
During their stay, the delegation met with key Bahraini figures and Indian community leaders. They acknowledged the contributions of the Indian diaspora in fostering goodwill and strengthening ties between India and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Baijayant Panda, speaking at community interactions, stressed India’s firm and unified stance against terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He reaffirmed India’s commitment to the safety and security of every Indian abroad and highlighted ongoing international efforts to counter terrorism.
“The Indian diaspora plays a vital role in promoting India’s soft power and strategic interests abroad,” Panda said, adding that Bahraini authorities had expressed deep appreciation for the Indian community’s contributions to the nation’s development.
As part of their cultural outreach, the delegation visited the historic Shrinathji Temple in Manama, engaging with local community members and highlighting the temple’s importance as a symbol of India’s cultural heritage overseas.
Formal meetings were also held at the Indian Embassy, where Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob welcomed the delegation to India House and provided a detailed briefing on India-Bahrain relations.
The visit concluded with a tribute ceremony honoring Mahatma Gandhi, where delegation members offered floral tributes, reaffirming India’s dedication to peace and unity. The Embassy actively documented and shared the delegation’s engagements on social media.
The high-level delegation included notable leaders across the political spectrum, such as Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and former foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, in addition to Panda.
