India Welcomes First Phase Of Trump’s Israel-Hamas Peace Plan; PM Modi Lauds Netanyahu’s Leadership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi publicly praised the US-brokered agreement on the first step of the peace plan between Israel and Hamas on Thursday. Modi said that the deal was a big step toward bringing about permanent peace and stability in the difficult area.

The Prime Minister also used a post on X (previously Twitter) to praise the leadership of Israel. “We are happy with the deal on the first part of President Trump’s peace plan.” Modi wrote, “This is also a sign of PM Netanyahu’s strong leadership.”

PM Modi said that he hoped for the people afflicted by the two-year-old battle in Gaza. He also said that the deal’s provisions for the release of hostages and more humanitarian aid “will bring them relief and pave the way for lasting peace.”

The Breakthrough Deal’s Details

Just a few hours before Modi’s statement, Donald Trump said that both Israel and Hamas had agreed to the conditions of the arrangement that the US and Qatar had worked out. The deal is the biggest step forward in the terrible battle that started two years ago.

The first step in the peace proposal is for Hamas and Israel to agree to stop fighting in Gaza and free at least some of the hostages and prisoners.

India has always supported all diplomatic attempts to bring peace back to Gaza and deal with the terrible humanitarian issue there.
