Reports from June said that the DRDO was working on a new version of the missile that would be able to go even farther, up to 7,500 kilometers.
This new test comes after another big success in India’s missile program last year. India successfully tested the Agni 5 missile for the first time, which has Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. This new technology lets one missile carry and launch several nuclear warheads, each of which can hit a separate target.
