India Sets Three Guinness World Records Under ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ For Women’s Health And Preventive Care

New Delhi: India has achieved three Guinness World Records under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ (SNSPA) — a nationwide campaign focused on preventive, digital, and women-centric healthcare.

The Union Health Ministry announced that the campaign, held across all districts of India, set records for:

  1. Most people registered on a healthcare platform in one month — over 3.21 crore participants.
  2. Most people signed up for breast cancer screening online in one week — more than 9.94 lakh individuals.
  3. Most people registered for vital signs screening online in one week at the state level — exceeding 1.25 lakh participants.

Nationwide Outreach Across Every District

The campaign reached every district in the country, organizing 19.7 lakh health camps and engaging over 11 crore people across various healthcare platforms.

During the drive, 1.78 crore people were screened for hypertension, 1.73 crore for diabetes, and 69.5 lakh for oral cancer. Additionally, 62.6 lakh antenatal check-ups were conducted, 1.43 crore vaccine doses were administered, and 1.51 crore anaemia tests were carried out.

A key focus of the initiative was on women’s and maternal health, ensuring early detection and preventive care through mass screenings and community engagement.

Holistic Health and Community Participation

More than 85.9 lakh women were screened for tuberculosis, 10.2 lakh for sickle cell disease, and 2.14 crore individuals participated in counselling and wellness sessions.

The campaign also saw the registration of over 2.68 lakh Nikshay Mitras, volunteers who pledge support to tuberculosis patients under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP). Active participation from My Bharat volunteers, Panchayati Raj representatives, and community groups amplified the campaign’s reach.

In total, the initiative involved over five lakh Panchayati Raj members, 1.14 crore students, 94 lakh self-help group members, and five lakh participants from other community networks — making it one of India’s largest grassroots health movements.

‘Whole-of-Government’ Effort and Digital Innovation

The campaign, held from September 17 to October 2 as part of ‘Poshan Maah’ (Nutrition Month), was a “whole-of-government” initiative involving more than 20 ministries and departments, including central government institutions, medical colleges, and private sector partners.

The Ministry said the Guinness recognition underscores India’s success in combining public health outreach, digital innovation, and community mobilisation to strengthen preventive healthcare nationwide.

Prime Minister’s Message

Speaking about the initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said,

“Our mothers and sisters, our women power, are the foundation of the nation’s progress. If a mother is healthy, the whole family stays healthy.”

He added that the campaign reflects the spirit of service and the resolve of ‘Bharat First’, embodying India’s vision of a healthier and more empowered society.
