New Delhi/United Nations: India fiercely responded to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statements at the UN General Assembly. Indian envoy Petal Gahlot accused him of “once again glorifying terrorism” and giving a false account of Operation Sindoor.
Sharif said that Pakistan had “won the war” against India after attacks that happened after the Pahalgam terror assault. He said that India attacked without reason and went for civilians.
Gahlot said during India’s right to reply that it was the Pakistani military that directly asked for the fighting to stop after Operation Sindoor. She said, “If destroyed runways and burnt-out hangars look like victory, as the Prime Minister said, Pakistan is welcome to enjoy it.” This was in response to the proof of damage done to Pakistani air facilities.
She also told the Assembly that Pakistan stopped the Resistance Front from being held accountable on April 25, 2025. This group, which was sponsored by Pakistan, was responsible the killing of tourists in Jammu and Kashmir.
