India Raises Serious Concerns Over Khalistani Terrorist’s Threats To Indian Ambassador

New Delhi [India]: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has taken serious note of the threats issued by US-based Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun against Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized that India promptly addresses such security threats by raising them with the United States government.

Speaking at the weekly MEA press briefing in New Delhi on Friday, Jaiswal stated, “As and when such threats are issued, we take them very seriously and raise them with the US government.” He further expressed confidence in the US government’s response to India’s security concerns, adding, “In this case, also, we have raised it with the US government, and it is our expectation that the US government will take our concerns seriously.”

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, an India-designated terrorist, holds American and Canadian citizenship. He has been linked to several anti-India activities and is under scrutiny by international law enforcement agencies.

Previous Allegations Against Indian Nationals
In October, the MEA addressed allegations involving an individual named in a US Justice Department indictment related to a foiled assassination plot against Pannun. The accused, an Indian national named Nikhil Gupta, allegedly worked with an employee of the Indian government to hire a hitman for the plot. US prosecutors claim the plan was thwarted by American authorities.

At the time, Jaiswal confirmed that the individual linked to the indictment, referred to as “CC-1,” was no longer associated with the Indian government. “The US State Department informed us that the individual in the Justice Department indictment is no longer employed by India. I confirm that he is no longer an employee of the Government of India,” he said.

The allegations assert that Nikhil Gupta, along with his associate, plotted the assassination of Pannun in New York City. This development remains under investigation by US authorities.

India continues to prioritize the safety and security of its diplomatic personnel and maintains regular communication with the US government on such matters.
