India Labels Pakistan’s Missile Strikes as Provocative, Launches Precision Counterattacks Under Operation Sindoor

New Delhi [India], May 10: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Saturday condemned Pakistan’s recent military actions as “provocative” and “escalatory,” underscoring that India’s response was measured, defensive, and responsible. His remarks came during a joint press briefing held by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, where concrete evidence of Pakistan’s aggression was presented.

Misri reiterated that India will not tolerate deliberate attempts to target its military and civilian infrastructure. “Pakistan’s actions constituted provocation and escalation. In response, India defended and reacted in a responsible and measured fashion,” he stated.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army disclosed that Pakistan targeted over 26 sites along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB), using high-speed missiles. A particularly alarming incident occurred at 1:40 AM, when Pakistan attempted to strike Punjab’s airbase station.

She further revealed that Pakistan also targeted civilian infrastructure, including health centres and schools near Srinagar, Avantipur, and Udhampur Air Force Stations, calling it a “condemnable and unprofessional act” that showcased Islamabad’s intent to endanger civilian lives.

In a decisive counter-offensive under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces launched precision airstrikes on multiple Pakistani military installations. These included command and control centres, radar stations, and ammunition depots located in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Chunian, Pasrur, and Sialkot.

The strikes were carefully calibrated to avoid civilian casualties, as part of India’s commitment to proportionate response and de-escalation. “Precision targeting was done to minimise any collateral damage,” added Col Qureshi.

Meanwhile, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh addressed Pakistan’s disinformation campaign, rejecting false claims that India’s S-400 systems, airfields, BrahMos facilities, and other key installations had been destroyed. “These are baseless narratives aimed at undermining India’s defence capabilities and instilling fear,” she said.

Singh also confirmed that Pakistan is mobilising troops toward forward areas, raising concerns about possible further escalation. However, she reassured that India has responded effectively and remains committed to peace—provided Pakistan exercises reciprocal restraint.

Foreign Secretary Misri concluded by urging the public not to fall for Pakistan’s “tissue of lies”, reaffirming India’s strength, stability, and resolve in the face of provocations.
