India has issued a fresh travel and safety advisory for its nationals in Israel, urging them to remain vigilant and strictly follow safety instructions issued by local authorities amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The advisory, issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), also asked Indian citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Israel until the situation stabilises.
“In view of the prevailing situation in the region, all Indian nationals currently in Israel are advised to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to the safety guidelines and protocols issued by the Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command,” the MEA said.

Emergency Helpline for Indians in Israel
In case of emergencies, Indian nationals have been advised to contact the Embassy of India in Israel, which is operating a 24×7 helpline:
- +972-54-7520711
- +972-54-3278392
Rising Regional Tensions Fuel Safety Concerns
The advisory comes amid widespread protests in Iran, with the United States not ruling out possible interference or military action. Iran has warned that US military bases in the region would be legitimate targets in the event of an American attack.
Amid the heightened tensions, concerns have also been raised in Israel, particularly in Tel Aviv, Iran’s long-time regional rival.
Local media reports said that several areas in southern and central Israel have ordered the opening of public shelters as a precautionary measure.
According to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, the mayor of Dimona in southern Israel directed that shelters be opened across the city, stating that “it is better to be prepared than surprised.”
India Preparing Evacuation From Iran
The advisory for Israel comes as India is also making preparations to evacuate its citizens from Iran due to the deteriorating security situation.
India’s Advisory for Nationals in Iran
On Wednesday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals — including students, pilgrims, businesspersons and tourists — to leave Iran by available means, including commercial flights.
The embassy said the advisory was issued in view of the evolving and precarious situation in the country.
Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) have been asked to:
- Exercise due caution
- Avoid areas witnessing protests or demonstrations
- Stay in constant contact with the Indian Embassy
- Monitor local and official media for updates
According to official estimates, over 10,000 Indians, including a large number of students, are currently residing in Iran.
