New Delhi [India], February 11 : Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, addressed the India-Israel Business Forum organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi on Tuesday, where he emphasized that India and Israel share a common enemy: terrorism. He stated that both Prime Ministers work with a shared purpose to eliminate this threat.

He emphasized the focus on improving infrastructure to ensure economic prosperity reaches every corner of the country. Goyal also underscored the Centre’s initiatives in providing public welfare.
He noted that these efforts have paid off, with India now standing on strong economic foundations, capable of withstanding challenges like COVID-19, wars, and turbulent geopolitical situations.
To position India to leverage future opportunities, Goyal introduced the concept of the “10 Ds,” which include:

He further highlighted India’s robust judiciary and the country’s young demographic, which will provide a strong workforce in the coming decades. Goyal emphasized India’s reliability as a partner to Israel, noting that the country is known for fulfilling its commitments. He also pointed to India’s growing demand, which continues to expand each year, offering numerous investment opportunities for Israel in sectors such as technology and appliances.
During the forum, Goyal outlined India’s ambitious roadmap for technological and infrastructural development, particularly in 5G connectivity, and the expansion of infrastructure and public welfare programs. He announced that by the end of 2026, India would be fully operational on 5G, and that the country is already working on developing its indigenous 6G technology for future telecom needs.
Macroeconomic Strength: Goyal highlighted India’s progress over the past decade, focusing on strengthening the country’s macroeconomic fundamentals. This includes improvements in infrastructure aimed at achieving economic prosperity for all regions of India.

Infrastructure Expansion: Goyal noted India’s impressive infrastructure development, mentioning that India has doubled its port capacity in the past decade and expanded its airport network from 74 to over 150, with plans to increase this to 225 airports in the next five to six years.
Public Welfare and Policy: The Minister also highlighted the government’s commitment to public welfare through various initiatives aimed at improving the living standards of citizens.
India’s Economic Growth: Goyal reaffirmed India’s position as the fastest-growing large economy and expressed confidence that the nation’s economic momentum would continue, driven by strong infrastructure investment and sound economic policies.
