India Elected To Interpol’s Asian Committee, A Major Boost For Regional Security Cooperation

New Delhi: India has been chosen to be a member of the Interpol Asian Committee. The decision was made through a multi-stage voting procedure at the 25th Asian Regional Conference in Singapore on Friday. This election is likely to greatly improve collaboration in the region on a number of important security problems.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is India’s National Central Bureau (NCB) and was the country’s representative at the conference, said in a statement that this new role will make it easier for people to work together to fight organized crime, cybercrime, human trafficking, terrorism, and drug trafficking.

A spokesperson for the CBI said in a statement that the committee’s job is to “meet once a year to talk about regional security issues and give advice on how to coordinate actions among member countries.” Its main job is to advise the Asian Regional Conference on strategic and operational issues and help them figure out what the most important things are to do in the fight against crime in the region.

India has a long history of being involved in international policing efforts and has always shown that it is committed to global policing aims. The election to the committee strengthens India’s rising role as a leader in law enforcement and transnational security issues. This builds on the country’s proactive efforts to improve security cooperation across the Asia-Pacific region.

Indian diplomats, embassies, and the National Central Bureau (NCB-India) worked together on this campaign, which got a lot of support from friendly countries through strategic bilateral and multilateral contacts. The strategy is also anticipated to help India find fugitives who have departed the nation, like those who are involved in financial fraud or terrorism.
