India Dismisses Bilawal Bhutto’s UN Remarks, Citing Lack Of Credibility In Pakistan’s Diplomatic Efforts

India has dismissed Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s recent speech at the United Nations, labeling Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts as lacking credibility. Indian government sources emphasized that Pakistan’s history of supporting cross-border terrorism undermines its calls for peace and dialogue.

At the UN, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue, asserting that loyalty to the cause of Kashmir was in his blood and that he would stand with the people of Indian-administered Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination.

Indian officials responded by highlighting Pakistan’s continued support for terrorist activities as a major obstacle to meaningful diplomatic engagement. They pointed to the recent Pahalgam attack, which prompted India to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty and impose other diplomatic measures against Pakistan.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has previously criticized Pakistan’s approach to terrorism, describing it as a “promoter, justifier and spokesperson of a terrorism industry.” He emphasized that victims of terrorism do not sit together with perpetrators to discuss terrorism, underscoring India’s firm stance against engaging in dialogue under the shadow of terrorism.

The ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan have been exacerbated by recent conflicts, including the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict, which saw both nations engage in military actions before agreeing to a fragile ceasefire brokered by international mediators.
