India Continues Global Humanitarian Outreach With Medical Aid To Syria And Vaccines To Bolivia

NEW DELHI – This week, India showed its strong commitment to helping people around the world by sending important medical supplies to Syria and a large shipment of vaccines to Bolivia. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) verified these new initiatives and talked about how India is helping countries who are dealing with health problems and areas that have been ravaged by conflict.

On July 29, 2025, MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote on “X” (previously Twitter) that “India’s humanitarian support to the people of Syria continues.” He said that India had “sent a shipment of 5 MT of essential life-saving medicines to Syria, including anti-cancer, antibiotics, and anti-hypertensives.” India is trying to help Syria, which has been in a long-term conflict and is facing humanitarian problems, by sending this gift. This shows that New Delhi is still committed to helping in times of need.

India had just sent 300,000 doses of Measles and Rubella vaccines and other medical supplies to Bolivia a week earlier, on July 17. This showed that India was still committed to helping with global health. This urgent shipment was sent because the measles outbreak in South America was getting worse.

“India sent Bolivia 300,000 doses of measles and rubella vaccines and other supplies to help them deal with the outbreak of the disease. “India stands by its friends in the Global South,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X, stressing India’s support for its partners in the Global South.

The introduction of these vaccines in Bolivia is very important because the country has declared a National Health Emergency because measles cases are on the rise in many parts of the country. According to Xinhua, there were 60 verified cases at the time of the proclamation.

Xinhua quoted Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora as saying on social media that the emergency move was necessary because of the measles epidemic and the high risk of the disease spreading. “After urgently convening the National Strategic Council for Health Emergencies, we have decided to declare a National Health Emergency with the firm intention of protecting the health and lives of the Bolivian people.” This emergency declaration is meant to stop the virus from spreading by getting a lot of people vaccinated and getting local governments, regional authorities, and international organizations to work together.

These timely deliveries of aid show how active India is in helping people and making the world a safer place for health.
